flower essences for bi-polar?

Namaste-

I have been diagnosed borderline bi-polar type 2, and have been medicated to a high degree of success. However, I do still have ocassional breakthroughs of depression, anxiety, lack of mental focus, and confidence issues with tendencies towards self-isolation.

I've recently begun using Rescue Remedy with great success to help stem my incessant worrying, and some muscle testing has revealed that my other remaining symptoms mentioned above could be addressed to a great degree with flower essences.

What are some suggested essences or blends?

Thanks and blessings,
~Devi~

    Hi Devi,

Peach-Flowered Tea Tree flower essence, made by Australian Bush Flower Essences (ABFE) is very useful for drastic mood changes and manic-depressive states. It is recommended for bi-polar and also blood-sugar imbalances, including diabetes. Other essences to consider are Waratah and Crowea, also by ABFE. Rainbow Kelp essence (Pacific Essences, Canada) comes to mind, since it is a remedy that balances introverted and extroverted behavior and can help lift depression and states of fear. The rainbow kelp essence is not made from a flower but, rather, a seaweed. It is part of a collection of essences called "sea essences." They are quite powerful and are usually used alone. Try muscle testing for these remedies.

    Blessings,

        Hi Laila,

Yes, it would be an excellent essence to consider for this condition. However, I have some more specific recommendations. I would strongly suggest trying a combination essence made by Australian Bush (ABFE) called "Woman Essence." One of the ingredients in this formula is Peach-Flowered Tea Tree. The other essences address physical, hormonal, and psychological balance.

Considering you live in San Diego, you can order such an essence from Healing Waters in New Mexico. I believe their web address is www.essencesonline.com...I can also prepare a bottle of woman essence from my set of stock essences for you.

From a Chinese Medicine perspective, many female reproductive disorders are generally considered to be imbalances of the Liver, or "Liver Qi Stagnation." When the Liver is burdened with detoxifying excess hormones (usually estrogen) or other toxins, a woman can become very irritable. Interestingly, many cases of depression are also caused by Liver imbalances. While the Woman Essence does not treat the liver specifically, it contains another excellent essence that balances the levels of estrogen and progesterone, thereby taking the burden off the liver to break down the excess hormones. And of course there is the Peach-Flowered Tea Tree essence, which has a balancing effect on mood because it balances the Spleen and Pancreas. It is excellent for mood swings. If you decide to go this route, I would suggest taking 7 drops every morning and night until the bottle is empty. This will take you through at least one cycle and maybe even two. Many women find this remedy to be really wonderful for premenstrual challenges.

I wish you the best Laila! I am here if you have any further questions.

        Blessings,

        Nkosi
